Rooftop extension of an apartment in Brussels
- Location: Molenbeek-St-Jean
- Surface: 100m²
In this urban Brussels neighborhood where red and brown brick buildings coexist, this vertical elevation stands out as a white, contemporary, and contrasting volume built atop the existing structure.
Inside the extension, five cantilevered frames shape the space. They define a narrow gallery on the street side and a larger, more open area on the balcony side.
The column structure frames the interior, subtly dividing the apartment's zones while preserving fluidity between indoors and outdoors, creating a dynamic interplay of light and materials.
